Uncontainable Curry

The Sweet Sixteen Midwest bracket in the NCAA Tournament was held in Detroit this year and was played on Ford Field, where the Detroit Lions play. It was the first time in history that a basketball court had been placed on the 50-yard line in an NFL stadium, so one can imagine how intense the crowd was. An estimated 56,000 people were in attendance to see Davidson upset Wisconsin 73-56.

Nikon Professional Services had a booth set up in the photo work room with equipment available to rent..sweet. FOR FREE, I got to use a D3 and a 300 f/2.8 VR. Awesome. So, what I shot this game with was:

D300 + 70-200mm f/2.8 VR
D200 + 17-55mm f/2.8

Not gonna lie, I felt pretty badass walking around on the elevated court in the middle of a football field with all that equipment.

Here, Davidson's Stephen Curry blows past Wisconsin's Marcus Landry (1) and Michael Flowers (22). Wisconsin could not contain Curry, who by himself outscored the entire Wisconsin team in the second half 22-20.
